Mazda’s Largest Vehicle Wins SUV Of The Year

The engine got the most points
The Mazda CX-80 e-Skyactiv D has taken the top spot in Diesel Car Magazine’s 2025 Diesel Top 50, winning the Best Seven-Seat Diesel SUV category.
The biggest Mazda has reason to celebrate. While at the same time, the smaller Mazda CX-60, powered by the same engine, ranks seventh in the ranking and was declared the best large SUV.
Advanced technology and powerful engines
Both models share an advanced in-line six-cylinder 3.3-litre e-Skyactiv D diesel engine, with the CX-80 coming exclusively with all-wheel drive and 254 hp, while the CX-60 is also available with rear-wheel drive and 200 hp in Exclusive-Line trim.
Diesel and EcoCar magazine editor Ian Robertson said, “Mazda has achieved something remarkable with the CX-80. Their first entry into the large seven-seat SUV class sets new standards for roominess, refinement, and long-distance comfort among diesel SUVs.”
Knocking on the door of premium society
The CX-80 is the largest SUV that Mazda has ever offered in Europe, with a high-quality interior, technically advanced powertrains, and an elegant design. “Eighty” was created to meet challenges in which the desire of the Japanese is an easy entry into the premium area.
