Nissan Murano Set A New American Production Record

Nissan has reached a new production milestone by manufacturing 700,000 Murano SUV models in the United States. This total includes production from the Canton, Mississippi plant, where the vehicle was made from 2014 to 2020, as well as the current Smyrna, Tennessee plant.
“This milestone reflects our team’s pride and dedication in putting tremendous effort into every vehicle they produce,” said Brian Crockett, vice president of manufacturing at the Nissan Smyrna plant. “Behind each of the 700,000 Muranos are skilled individuals who bring their talent, commitment, and attention to detail to work every day.”
The Smyrna factory produces more than 6,700 Murano vehicles per month. The model is produced exclusively in the USA and was recently included in the Top 100 on the Cars.com American-Made Index website. It is a survey that represents the leading annual ranking of vehicles with the greatest contribution to the American economy based on production, procurement, and employment data.
The first generation of Murano (from 2003) was, in fact, very well received on a global level; however, with the new generations, the success in Europe faded, so today it is not part of the offer of European dealers.
