The last Audi R8 rolls off the assembly line this month (March) at the Audi “Böllinger Höfe” site in Germany. 

Destined for Audi’s museum, the final R8 is a high-performance Quattro Edition Coupe finished in Vegas Yellow paint. 

During the production run that spanned over 17 years, Audi built 44,418 examples of its flagship mid-engine sports car. 

The Audi R8, a mid-engine, 2-seater high-performance sports car, merged jaw dropping design and racing pedigree.





First-gen R8 based on the Lamborghini Diablo was officially launched at the Paris Auto Show on 30 September 2006.

The Lamborghini Huracan-based second-gen R8 was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

After a 18-year run, the last Audi R8 finally rolled off the assembly line this month (March) at the Audi “Böllinger Höfe” site in Heilbronn, Germany, where the high-performance sports car has been manufactured since 2014.

Finished in Vegas Yellow, the final example of the Audi R8 is a high-performance Quattro Edition Coupe variant destined for Audi’s official museum in Ingolstadt, Germany.

While it will never be driven, it is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V-10 that pumps out 602 horses and 413 ft lbs of torque, which allows a 0-60 mph in just 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph.

During the production run that spanned over 17 years, Audi built over 44,000 examples (44,418) of its flagship mid-engine sports car, a number that includes both the coupé and spyder versions.

Like the Audi TT, the last R8 car was supposed to be built at the end of 2023. But Audi had to extend production to keep up with customer demands after announcing the impending demise of the flagship sports car.
