The Return Of The Nissan GT-R Was Announced By The Japanese

Nissan is turning a new page—the new GT-R is coming, but also a whole line of sports models that should bring emotion back to the brand. But one detail remains a big mystery.
Nissan is seriously planning a return to the world of sports cars, and at the center of that strategy is the new GT-R. The return of this model has been announced for a long time, but now Nissan’s director has confirmed it for the first time.
The first man of the company, Ivan Espinosa, confirmed that the legendary model, known as ‘Godzilla,’ definitely has a future, but also that the Japanese manufacturer does not plan to stop there.
“The GT-R will be back, without a doubt,” Nissan said, making it clear that the iconic model remains a key part of the brand’s identity.
New CEO Ivan Espinosa wants to revive the brand’s sporty DNA, which in recent years has been overshadowed by SUVs and electrification. The plan includes developing more sports models—including the GT-R and Z—to re-engage Nissan enthusiasts and strengthen its image.
In other words, the Japanese manufacturer wants to bring back what it was once known for—exciting cars that evoke emotions. Although the return has been confirmed, a key question remains unanswered—what will the new GT-R actually be like?
Nissan has not yet made a final decision on the drivetrain, and all options are being considered—from a classic gasoline engine through a hybrid to a fully electric version.
According to current estimates, the new generation could arrive only towards the end of the decade, potentially around 2030. This means that the development will be long and demanding, because Nissan wants to avoid compromise and create a model that will set the standard again in the class.
