Nigerian chess master, Tunde Onakoya, has landed an ambassadorial role with car brand, Nord Motion, after emerging victorious in a chess game with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr Oluwatobi Ajayi.
Tunde, who founded Chess in Slums Africa and holds the Guinness World Records for the longest marathon chess game, disclosed this in a post shared on his X handle on Thursday.

According to him, his victory over Oluwatobi Ajayi landed him not only a brand ambassador role at the Lagos-based automobile company but also a brand new Made-in-Nigeria Nord A7 SUV.
“Yesterday, I got a call from @OluwatobiAjayiJ, the CEO of @nordmotion, inviting me to his office for a chat and a chess match. During our conversation, he proposed an outrageous deal : if I could beat him, I could choose any car in their showroom for free.

“Knowing he was a strong chess player from our previous game analysis (Although we had never played before), I accepted the challenge. After about an hour of intense play, I managed to win from a very complex position.
“This all still feels surreal, but I’m thrilled to announce that I am now a global brand ambassador for @nordmotion motors and the proud owner of a NORD A7 suv built and assembled in Nigeria.

Oluwatobi Ajayi, the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nord Motion, also confirmed this on his X page with pictures Tunde and his latest car. Ajayi wrote :
“We are proud to announce @Tunde_OD as our global ambassador.
This is in alignment with our pursuit of excellence and vision to contribute to building a greater and more prosperous nation.”
