What You Should Know About The “M-Hero 1”, Innoson Motors’ Latest Made-in-Nigeria Luxury SUV

M-Hero 1 hulking ultra-luxury SUV joins Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) lineup of Nigeria-made vehicles.

M-Hero 1 is a rebadged M-Hero 917, a full-size luxury SUV manufactured by Dongfeng Motor Corporation.

The Chinese 917 version comes in two versions, the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and the Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV).

BEV version equipped with four electric motors, battery-pack that allows a range up to 505 km (314 miles) per charge.

EREV version has 1.5L inline-four turbocharged petrol engine as a generator, which powers three motors.

Chinese car brand M-Hero’s 917 hulking ultra-luxury SUV has joined Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) lineup of Nigeria-made vehicles, per the images making rounds on the social media.

The M-Hero 917, rebadge in markets outside China, including Nigeria, as M-Hero 1), is full-size luxury SUV manufactured by Dongfeng Motor Corporation under the M-Hero brand.

While Innoson is yet to make official announcement of the M-Hero 1, the “Made in Nigeria” and “IVM” badges on the vehicle indicates a partnership and assembly by Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing in Nigeria.

M-Hero 917 (M-Hero 1)

First unveiled in January 2023, production of the M-Hero 917 started on 5 April 2023 before being launched in the Chinese market on 25 August 2023.

While the SUV is known in the Chinese market as M-Hero 917, it is rebadge in outside market as M-Hero 1, as seen boldly written on the front and rear of the Innoson Vehicles.

The 917 comes in two versions, the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and the Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV). The BEV version is equipped four electric motors and a battery-pack of 142.7 kWh, which allows a maximum range up to 505 km (314 miles) per charge.

The EREV version has an 194-hp 1.5L inline-four turbocharged petrol engine as a generator, which powers three motors, giving out a total output of 805 hp. Its 66 kWh battery enable the vehicle to drive 200 km (120 miles) on pure electric range.

CRAB MOVING MODE

Crab Moving Mode synchronizes the rear wheels with the front ones, allowing diagonal movement at low speeds, up to 10.6°. This feature enables the M-HERO 1 to effortlessly navigate off-road trails or maneuver with ease in parking situations.

Cost : Pricing of Innoson M-Hero will be available at launch when it will likely replace the IVM G80 SUV as the flagship. The IVM G80 SUV is priced from ₦60+ Million.
