Zip Charge launches Go, an electric vehicle ‘Power Bank’ that offers 20-miles (32-km) of drive range after 30-mins charge.

ZipCharge has revealed its ‘game-changing’ portable electric vehicle charger called the Go which can add up to 20 miles (32 kilometres) of drive range after being plugged into the car for 30 minutes.
Unveiled at the ongoing COP26 climate summit, the ZipCharge Go is designed to remove range anxiety, which has prevented some users from switching from gas vehicles to electric vehicles.
The device works with any plug-in hybrid vehicle or all-electric Electric Vehicle with a Type 2 socket and will charge that vehicle to its full capacity between 30 minutes to an hour.

According to the company, the power bank will be available to customers in the latter part of 2022. A higher capacity version will be able to add up to 40 miles (64 kilometres) of range.
The power bank, the size of a compact suitcase, is lightweight enough to be stored in a car boot. It features a power panel with the controls and status displayed.
When down, the power bank’s battery can be charged at home or elsewhere using a standard domestic plug.
The lightweight device, according to the firm, will ‘bring the possibility of home charging to all’. It will be available on a monthly subscription for £49 (€57).
Alternatively, Zip Charge said it can be bought outright for ‘a price comparable to the fully installed cost of a level 2 home charge point, and significantly less than bi-directional home charge points currently on the market’. This will likely be around £800, though ZipCharge has yet to confirm exact pricing.
