After 58 Years Of Neglect, Sabon Kaura-Jos Road, In Bauchi State Is Completed (PHOTOS)
After 58 years of neglect, the Sabon Kaura-Jos Road in Bauchi state has now been completed.
Governor Bala Mohammed led-Bauchi State government announced this on social media.
Recall that on July 2019, the Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed inaugurated contracts for the construction and rehabilitation of four roads in the state capital, Bauchi.
The road contract awarded to the Triacta Nigeria Limited includes the construction of Gombe Road to Maiduguri Road By-Pass and Sabon Kaura to Jos Road By-Pass.
Others are the rehabilitation of Sultan Abubakar road to Muda Lawal Market Road and Yakubun Bauchi Quarters Road.
The Governor, who spoke at the flag-off ceremony at Ibrahim Bako Quarters in Bauchi, said the contracts for the construction of the two bypasses will help reduce travelling time within the city and road accident.
Mohammed reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering on its campaign promises before his 100 days in office.
The construction of Gombe Road to Maiduguri Road bypass is 4.4 kilometres. The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Works and Transport, Stephen Abubakar said. He also said that that of Sabon Kaura-Jos Road by-pass is 6.2 kilometres.
He added that Yakubun Bauchi Quarters road is 1.8 kilometres and Muda Lawal market road is 1 kilometre.
Abubakar said the road construction will enhance the development of the affected communities.
The contract of the Sabon Kaura – Jos Road is awarded to Messrs Habibu Engineering Nigeria Limited. It was at the total cost of N2, 300, 230, 774. 99,” he stated.
Mohammed said the construction of the roads was a milestone for him. He also said it is “a historical moment for the people of Bauchi State.”
