Beggar By Day, Luxury Cruiser By Night: Palestine Couple Busted With Range Rover And Gold iPhone

Palestinian police in Abu Dis have arrested a professional beggar and his wife after local citizens spotted the couple stepping out of a luxury Range Rover SUV and spreading out across the town’s streets to solicit money.

Authorities closed in on the pair—now dubbed ‘the richest beggars in Palestine’—on the outskirts of Jerusalem after eagle-eyed residents noticed them sliding back into their luxury SUV upon abandoning their daily hustle.

The couple had reportedly been utilizing the ultra-luxury Range Rover—valued at over 500,000 shekels (roughly $163,500 or ₦260 million)—to travel smoothly between their lucrative street-side begging spots.

Upon intercepting the premium SUV and thoroughly searching its high-end cabin, law enforcement officials reportedly discovered stacks of cash alongside a customized, gold-plated iPhone.

Speaking on the jaw-dropping bust, police spokesperson Brigadier General Louay Arziqat revealed that the luxury SUV and the gold-plated smartphone were just the tip of the iceberg. He added that the department is now tracking broader assets belonging to the professional street hustler.

“The luxury vehicle, a Range Rover, was seized, as well as an iPhone plated in gold,” Arziqat confirmed.

“This is what has been seized so far. There is information indicating that he owns other movable and immovable property… The Economic Crimes Department… are continuing the search and verification process to see if there are also assets and money in banks.”

According to Gulf News and Ajel English News, which broke the story in English, the suspects and their high-rolling assets remain in custody while the Economic Crimes Prosecution digs deep into their bank balances and real estate holdings.
