Nigeria’s Azman Air Takes Latest Aircraft “Airbus A340” On Promotional Flights Betw. Kano, Abuja And Lagos
Nigeria’s Azman Air takes its latest acquisition, a Airbus A340 aircraft, on a promotional flights between Kano, Abuja and Lagos.
The flight was its first since the ex-Virgin Atlantic aircraft was delivered to Azman Air in February, 2020.
Nigeria’s domestic airline operator Azman Air on Saturday took its latest aircraft A340-600 for a spin in what it calls some ‘shakedown’ flights across the country.
Azman Air flew the Airbus A340-600 aircraft on a series of promotional flights between Kano, Abuja and Lagos. The flight was the first since the former Virgin Atlantic aircraft was delivered to Azman Air in February, 2020.
In a statement, the airline said :
“The Hardwork of the Management and Staff at AzmanAir is gradually paying off as we edge closer to Redefining International Flight Experience out of Nigeria with our Airbus A340-600.
“Having Satisfied all the requirements in activating the Airbus for Operations, We successfully conducted Promotional/ Shakedown Flights between Kano, Abuja and Lagos today, 28th Nov 2020.
“This is part of the process to re-establish our devotion to handling long haul Flights with Airbus A340-600 according to Global Aviation Standard.”
The aircraft is the first widebody jet in the African carrier’s fleet. With the arrival of the new plane, Azman will spread its wing on the international routes. These includes charter flights for Hajj and Umrah travelers.
The aircraft’s economy cabin will seats 411 passengers in a 2-4-2 configuration. Its business class cabin, in the middle of the aircraft, has two (brown) seats.
Azman Air currently flies to these following 11 destinations across Nigeria:
Lagos, Abuja, Asaba, Benin City, Birmin Kebbi, Gombe, Kaduna Int’l, Kano, Maiduguri, Owerri, and Port Harcourt Omagwa.
