Nigeria Fire Service To Acquire Firefighting Helicopters - autojosh

Nigeria Federal Fire Service is set to acquire firefighting helicopters to help in fight against fire outbreak.

The Nigeria Fire Service is set to acquire firefighting helicopters in a bid to better handle the growing challenge of fire outbreak in the country.

This was revealed on Thursday by the Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), Mr Liman Ibrahim. Ibrahim said this during the commissioning of a newly renovated Federal Fire Service, Zone G Command in Minna, Niger.





Ibrahim added that members of the service will travel to Belarus in March to engage the manufacturers of firefighting helicopters.

“We are leaving the country on March 5 to Belarus to engage the manufacturers on procurement of this helicopter,”

Ibrahim said that the team would also discuss the possibility of adding a new hydronic platforms to the recently acquired one designed fighting fire in high-rise buildings.

According to him, this newly purchased vehicle would be stationed in Lagos when it is commissioned. He further stated that the planned purchase would be stationed in Abuja.

“We have taken delivery of one hydronic truck which can extend to 18 floors.





“Our special crew for the truck are presently undergoing training to master the operation because it is purely hydronic.

“When the vehicle is commissioned it would be stationed in Lagos and when we purchase another it would be stationed in Abuja,”.
