Bugatti Joins Forces With Rimac, Creates A New Automaker, 'Bugatti Rimac' - autojosh

Porsche forms joint venture with Croatia EV maker, Rimac, creates new hypercar maker, ‘Bugatti Rimac‘.

This joint venture means a luxury Bugatti electric car by ‘Bugatti Rimac’ may hit the market by 2025.

Bugatti will continue to develop the Chiron while Rimac EV Maker will continue to produce the Nevera.





Bugatti and Rimac, two of the greatest automobile manufacturers of all time, have joined forces to create a new luxury automaker, the Bugatti Rimac LLC.

The news of their joint venture was broadcasted live on Monday from Dubrovnik, in Croatia, after nearly 18 months of fruitful negotiations between Bugatti parent, Porsche, and Rimac.

An official statement reads :

“Porsche and Rimac Automobili are the perfect partners to accompany Bugatti into the future”.

For this ceremony, a Rimac Nevera, a Bugatti Chiron, and a Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo, three of the automaker’s most powerful cars, were flown in via helicopter on top of a 14th-century fortress.





According to reports, Rimac will control 55% of the shares of this new joint venture, while 45% will go to Porsche. Mate Rimac will be the CEO for both Bugatti Rimac and Rimac Automobili.

Reacting to the joint venture, Mate Rimac said :

“This is a truly exciting moment in the short, yet rapidly expanding history of Rimac Automobili and this new venture takes things to a completely new level”

“I have always loved cars and can see at Bugatti where passion for cars can take you to. I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am by the potential of these two brands combining knowledge, technologies, and values to create some truly special projects in the future.”

Porsche joining forces with electric car maker, Rimac, means a luxury Bugatti electric car from ‘Bugatti Rimac’ may hit the market by 2025.

Bugatti and Rimac will continue to operate as separate brands, meaning Bugatti will continue to develop the Chiron, while Rimac will continue to produce the Nevera.
