China’s GWM Tank 600 Set To Make World Debut, To Rival Toyota Land Cruiser Prado SUV

China’s GWM Tank 600 is set to officially make its world debut, to rival the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado SUV.
The GWM Tank 600 is expected to have roughly the same dimensions as the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado SUV.
It will be the second model under the GWM’s Tank sub-brand, following the release of the smaller Tank 300.
Tank plans to launch larger 700, 800 and X-Cannon models to rival more established SUVs and pickups in the global market.
China’s automaker Great Wall Motors (GWM) is set to debut its Tank 600 luxury SUV at the upcoming Chengdu Motor Show later this month.
First official images of the GWM Tank 600, an off-roading SUV believed to be Chinese answer to the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, was recently shared by the automaker.
Details of the Tank 600 SUV is still sketchy, but the Prado rival is expected to pack a new 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 that will produce a sizeable 260kW and 500N. This will be paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox.
The Tank 600 is expected to have roughly the same dimensions as the Prado. A leaked document suggests it will measure 5050 mm long, 1934 mm wide and 1905 mm tall and a wheelbase of 2850 mm, making it slightly larger than the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.
