Lamborghini Aventador Sales Has Officially Ended As Replacement Model Scheduled For 2022
Want to get a new Lamborghini Aventador from the factory? Not going to happen as the Italian carmaker has officially ended sales of the iconic vehicle.
This Italian supercar, famously named after a Spanish fighting bull, has been around for the better part of a decade and has been sold in numerous configurations, including the Aventador S, Aventador SVJ, and Aventador Ultimae. The Ultimae is officially the last-ever Aventador, but Lamborghini promised that the V12 engine will survive, and future models such as the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 will make use of hybrid technology.
The Aventador Ultimae is powered by the same 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine as the regular one but has been. tuned to produce 780 hp and 531 lb-ft. According to Lamborghini it can hit 62 mph from a standstill in just 2.8 seconds and then onto a top speed of 221 mph, up from 217 mph. Since it was a sent forth vehicle, the Aventador Ultimae was limited to 350 coupes and 250 roadsters and it looks like they’re all sold out.
Lamborghini launched the Aventador in 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show as the successor to the Murcielago. It was praised for its aggressive design and the harmonic naturally aspirated V12 engine which was an evolution of the Murcielago’s power plant. The Aventador is the most successful V12 supercar from the Santa’Agata Bolognes. A replacement model is scheduled to arrive in 2022 as a 2023 model.
