GM CEO says that the first Edition of all-electric Chevrolet Silverado EV RST pickup sold out in 12 minutes.

GM says that the Silverado EV will be available in two versions, including the RST trim and the WT trim.

Deliveries of the $105,000 First Edition Chevrolet Silverado EV RST pickup are expected to start in fall 2023.





US automaker General Motors (GM), this week at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) unveiled the all-new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV – an all-electric pickup truck that will be able to drive an estimated range of 400 miles on a full charge.

During the launch, GM announced that the Silverado EV will be available in two versions, including the street-performance Rally Sport Truck (RST) trim and the fleet-focused Work Truck (WT) trim, with different options across the range.

Reservations opened up shortly after the electric vehicle’s debut at the CES, and now the automaker has confirmed it sold out First Edition of the pickup truck in just 12 minutes.

Reacting to this development, GM CEO Mary Barra told Bloomberg that the well-equipped Chevy Silverado EV RST First Edition were spoken for in under 12 minutes.





“The reception has been great, the First Edition of the RST sold out in 12 minutes and reservations are still coming in, so we’re super excited about the response that we’re getting because this is a ground-up EV truck that has so much capability we’re so excited to share with the world.”

Barra didn’t reveal how many units are part of the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV RST First Edition, but the trim, with has a starting price of $105,000, is the most expensive and luxurious truck.

The automaker is still accepting reservations for the regular RST, which starts at $39,900. Deliveries of the limited-run First Edition is expected to start in spring 2023, while the regular RST won’t arrive until summer 2024.
