Actress Kemi Afolabi Recounts Her Encounter With Traffic Robbers

Kemi Afolabi-Adesipe, a Nollywood actress, has lamented the country’s growing insecurity.

The actress, who was attacked by armed robbers on Tuesday, shared her experience on Instagram on Wednesday.

“No matter how much we scream and cry,” she wrote, “it always falls on deaf ears of those who govern us, even when death is involved.”

Kemi described her ordeal, saying the thieves cut her arm with a cutlass before taking her phones and other belongings and fleeing.

“I’m in disbelief!” Traumatised! I haven’t been able to sleep since yesterday.

“I also witnessed Nigeria’s high level of insecurity, which has become the norm.”

“My driver and I were attacked by armed robbers on our way back home from Arepo, where I went to film.”

“They shattered my windscreens, leaving me with wounds and skin pain from the impact of the shattered glass, which was forcefully broken while I was in the car.”

“My arm was slashed with a cutlass; they took my phones and belongings and fled!”

This, however, pales in comparison to what I’ve been through recently.

“No matter what comes my way, I will be eternally grateful to God for preserving me.”
