Customs Intercepts Two Unmarked Trucks Smuggling 1,134 25-litre Keg Of Petrol In Oyo, To Be Auctioned Off
Nigeria Customs Service intercepts two unmarked Trucks smuggling 1,134 25-litres keg of petrol in Oyo State.
The two unmarked trucks smuggling about 28,350 litres was intercepted at igbo-iberu Ayegun border in Oyo state.
The agency said it is currently auctioning the product to members of the public due to the flammable nature of the item.

The Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit Zone ‘A’, has intercepted two unmarked trucks smuggling 1,134 ×25-litres kegs (28,350 litres) of Premium Motor Spirit at igbo-iberu Ayegun border in Oyo state.
DC Hussein Ejibunu, the Acting Comptroller in charge of Federal Operations Unit Zone ‘A’, Ikeja, Lagos made this disclosure on Monday.
The smuggling activity and the seizure came amidst the scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol, in the country.
Ejibunu noted that the agency is currently auctioning the confiscated products to members of the public due to the flammable nature of the petrol.
“Due to the flammable nature of the item, the Service is currently auctioning the product to members of the public in line with the extant laws at Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit Headquarters, Ikeja, Lagos.”
