Automobili Lamborghini has debuted the new Urus Performante at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. The all-new Lamborghini Urus Performante is a faster, lighter, lower and high-performance version of the already impressive record-setting Urus Super SUV.
“The Urus Performante takes the supreme performance and distinctive looks of Lamborghini’s ground-breaking Super SUV to the next level, retaining its luxurious versatility and delivering the most engaging driving experience” says Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini Chairman and CEO.
“The Urus set a new standard at its launch, taking Lamborghini’s design DNA and technological talent and delivering the world’s first Super SUV for a new era: the Urus Performante sets the bar even higher for the SUV segment.”
The Urus Performante differentiate itself from the base SUV with a bolder and more prominent bonnet and bumper design to highlights its super sports genetics.
“The Urus Performante’s very bold and characterful design perfectly integrates the improved aerodynamics incorporating the front bumper’s air curtain, with significant visual differentiation including the new lightweight carbon fiber engine bonnet and extensive use of carbon fiber throughout reminding of its ‘Performante’ heritage,” says Mitja Borkert, Head of Design.
Its new black front air-intakes deliver increased engine cooling and maximum expression of the SUV’s super sports heritage while the newly-designed rear spoiler increases rear downforce of the Urus Performante by 38%.
Like the front, the rear of the Urus Performante comes distinctive by its purposeful high-performance design. These include a rear spoiler with carbon fiber fins, which takes design inspiration from the Aventador SVJ and contributes to the increased downforce.
Inside, the cabin features Nero Cosmus black Alcantara as standard with a new hexagonal seat stitching design, the “Performante trim”.
Trim options include extension of the Performante trim on doors, roof-lining, seat backrest and rear wall, while further Ad Personam customization will add interior matt carbon fiber details, red door handles, and a customized kickplate with Ad Personam logo.
Alongside the standard drive modes, including CORSA, STRADA, SPORT, the Urus Performante introduces a new RALLY selection, elevating the Super SUV’s fun-to-drive sportiness to a thrilling new level on dirt tracks.
The Urus Performante boasts 666 horsepower and a weight reduction of 47 kg (103.6 lbs.), allowing the new king of Pikes Peak to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 3.3 seconds (+0.3 seconds faster than the base Urus).
