As expected, the post garnered hundreds of comments, with one user – an exotic car tuner – offering to restore the McLaren P1 but only if Copart paid them half a million dollars ($500,000).
The McLaren, one of just 375 P1s that was ever built, was found on a toilet seat in Florida after being washed up from a garage and down the flooded street in Naples, Florida.
The owner of the P1, Enie, just took ownership of the car a week before the unfortunate incident. He also shared footage of the McLaren being swept out of his garage and down the flooded street.
His caption read : ‘Car went thru the garage.’
Ernie, known for showing off his fleet of luxury cars on his Instagram account, Lambo9286, also lost his brand new Rolls-Royce Phantom 8 worth over $400,000. The flagship Rolls-Royce could be seen parked next to the McLaren P1 inside the flooded garage.
