The Toyota Highlander, which rivals competitors like the Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade, and new-gen Honda Pilot, is one of the most popular and best-selling three-row midsize SUVs on the Nigerian car market today.

The latest-generation 2023 Toyota Highlander model comes in 5 trim levels, including the entry-level L, midrange LE, XLE and the Limited and the top-spec Platinum model.





Inside, the L and LE trims have a seven-inch multi-information display that replaces the smaller 4.2-inch screen, while the Limited and Platinum trims gets two 12.3-inch Multi-Information Display (MID) screens as standard. On both grades, a second new 12.3” Full Digital Instrument Cluster screen replaces the former 7-inch TFT.

All models comes with SiriusXM satellite radio, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa integration and JBL Premium Audio System with 11 speakers, while a Power-folding mirrors add convenience to Limited and Platinum. A wireless smartphone charging pad integrated into the dashboard is also available.

Safety features on the latest Toyota Highlander include eight airbags with a driver’s knee bag, a reverse camera, and a tyre-pressure monitoring system plus Toyota’s Safety Sense 2.5+ suite, which also comes as standard,

Driver-assist technologies includes pre-collision with pedestrian detection and intersection support, road-sign assist, full-speed radar cruise control, while top trim boasts a ten-inch color head-up display.

The XLE model is powered by a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that delivers 265 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque, while the Hybrid LE trim boasts a naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors.

Price

The Toyota Highlander range are priced between $36,000 and $51,000, depending on your choice of trim and engine options. But a brand new Highlander three-row midsize SUV starts at Seventy-two Million Naira (₦72,000,000) on the Nigerian car market today.
