Insecurity : Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) denies Corps Marshal is seeking FG’s permission to bear arms.
Says that the erroneous statement made by a representative of the Corps Marshal doesn’t reflect the current position of the Agency.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has denied claims that the Corps Marshal, Dauda Ali Biu, is seeking the permission of the Federal Government for the personnel of the Corps to bear arms.
In a statement by Bisi Kazeem, the FRSC spokesperson, the agency stated that the erroneous statement made by a representative of the Corps Marshal doesn’t reflect the current position of the Corps Marshal and the management team.
“The attention of the FRSC has just been drawn to a report that the Corps Marshal is seeking the permission of the Federal Government for the personnel of the Corps to bear arms.
“The said eronous statement credited to the representative of the Corps Marshal at the Passing Out Parade of Cadets at the Nigerian Army Training Centre (NATRAC) Kotangora, Niger State, does not reflect the current position of the Corps Marshal and the management team. Members of the public should therefore take note.”
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is a government agency founded in 1988. It statutory functions includes making the highways safe for motorists and other road users.
Last September, the FRSC also denied a report that its personnel have started carrying any form of fire arms while on patrol or on other official duties. It follows the image of an operative who was captured on camera carrying fire arms in a position that suggested he was on official duty.
