Porsche has unveiled a highly exclusive version of the 911 GT3 to celebrate the upcoming 100th anniversary of the Nürburgring, the legendary German circuit where the automaker has tested its production vehicles and achieved motorsport success and records for decades.

Called the 911 GT3 100 Jahre Nürburgring, the anniversary model combines its track-focused performance with styling cues inspired by the famous circuit, which has earned the nickname “Green Hell” because of its challenging layout and demanding conditions.

Buyers can choose between White and GT Silver Metallic exterior finishes, while distinctive green elements feature prominently on the bodywork as references to the “Green Hell” — the nickname for the legendary Nordschleife coined by Sir Jackie Stewart.

The special 911 GT3 rides on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear forged wheels, while its rear wing also gets green side plates carrying a gold Nürburgring emblem. The cabin features a green roll cage and additional Nürburgring-themed details, including a “Welcome to the Green Hell” inscription on the door sill.

Power comes from the naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six engine used by the 911 GT3. Porsche will also offer an optional Manthey Kit developed to enhance the GT3’s performance on the track. It features a comprehensive aerodynamics package that increases downforce to 540 kilograms at 177 mph (285 km/h).

“The Nürburgring has been part of our development programme for decades and is the spiritual home of our GT cars. This edition captures the atmosphere of the Nordschleife through numerous exterior and interior details that combine motorsport, performance and craftsmanship,” says Alexander Fabig, Vice President Product and Individualisation Offering at Porsche.
