Andriod Auto Now Displays Your Phone’s Wallpaper On Car’s Infotaiment System
If you like changing up your phone’s wallpaper from time to time to give it a fresh look, then you’ll be happy to know that Android Auto is now showing your current wallpaper on your car’s infotainment system.
This will appear as the background of the app drawer on Android Auto and is set to automatically show up by default. That said, if, for some reason, you don’t like the feature, you can turn it off in Android Auto’s settings.
This seems to be rolling out pretty widely at the moment, but it only works with static wallpapers. Live wallpapers and Google’s AI wallpapers on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro aren’t supported at the moment, and it’s unclear if they ever will be. When you have a live wallpaper set on your phone (or an AI wallpaper on your Pixel), then the infotainment screen will show the last used static one instead.
If you have a car that supports Android Auto and don’t see this feature yet, make sure you update the Android Auto app to the latest version. That may or may not do the trick. Google is notorious for switching things like this on and off server-side and for taking its sweet time with rollouts of new features. Anyway, even if you don’t have it right now, it will come.
