2024 Eid-el-Kabir Sallah Special Patrol Operations : FRSC records 51% reduction in road traffic crashes.

Adds that there was 38% reduction in number of people involved and 39% reduction in number of people killed.

Says reduction of road crashes, fatalities achieved by enforcing laws and educating commuters on safety consciousness.

The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, on Friday briefed the Press on the successes recorded by the Corps during the just concluded 2024 Eid-el-Kabir Sallah Special Patrol operations.

While addressing the Press, Mohammed stated that there was 51% reduction in road traffic crashes, 38% reduction in number of people involved, and 39% reduction in number of people killed, when compared to the data of the same period in 2023.

“We took full advantage of the opportunity to deliver reduction of road crashes and fatalities in our country by enforcing laws and educating commuters on safety consciousness.”

“We did this because, we are aware that if we fail on our part, posterity will not pardon our failure to manage the challenges, and the scars of our irresponsibility will be deafening, hence the imperatives of doubling our efforts in our future engagements.”
