Volvo Announces It Has Produced Over 100,000 Units Of The EX30 SUV

Volvo announces that it has produced more than 100,000 units of the EX30 SUV. In August, the Swedish model was the second best-selling electric car in Europe, behind the Tesla Model Y.

The Volvo EX30 proved to be a great success. The Swedish manufacturer, which operates within the Chinese concern Geely, which essentially invested the most effort in the development of the smallest Volvo, announced that on September 30 it produced the 100,000th EX30.

This is an impressive achievement considering that the first EX30 deliveries began in Europe in December 2023. So, less than a year ago. Perhaps even more surprising is the fact that the EX30 is Volvo’s second best-selling model this year.

Ending August, the Volvo XC60 was the brand’s best-selling model, with 58,254 cars sold, while the EX30 was second with 53,966 units delivered. But, given that the monthly sales of the smaller SUV are twice as high, it is possible that with the September results, the EX30 will become the new leader of the brand.

The initial price of the EX30 model in Europe is around 36,000 euros. The version with one motor and standard battery has a range of 440 kilometres, while the extended-range battery (which costs €4,200 more) offers up to 593 kilometres on a single charge.

The more acceptable price of the EX30 is due to Geely, which can produce cars of different brands in the same factory in China. These include the Zeekr X and Smart #1, models that share identical technology with the Swedish clone.

However, Volvo is currently moving production of the EX30 to Ghent, Belgium to avoid high tariffs in Europe and North America as a Chinese product.
