NRC, APM Terminals Partner To Expand Cargo Movement On Lagos-Ibadan Route
NRC, APM Terminals partner to expand cargo movement from Apapa port in Lagos to NRC freight yard in Ibadan.
NRC said that increased rail usage will not only reduce the cost of goods and services but also increase the GDP.

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has concluded arrangement with APM Terminals (APMT) to commence the expansion of cargo movement from Apapa port in Lagos to NRC freight yard in Moniya, Ibadan.
This was disclosed after a meeting between the Managing Director of NRC, Dr. kayode Opeifa and APMT delegates, led by the CEO APM Terminals Nigeria, Frederik Klinke and CCO APM Terminals Nigeria, Caroline Aubert-Adewuyi.
At the meeting, the CEO of APM Terminals emphasized APM’s position as the foremost transporter of container
freight in the country and a major partner to Nigerian Railway Corporation.

He also assured NRC of greater efficiency in turnround of cargo at the port and expansion of the use of rail for cargo evacuation and export through APM Terminals.
The MD of NRC expressed appreciation for APM Terminal’s close partnership with NRC which goes back decades. He went on to say that :
“This business collaboration is going to be a win win affair for both parties, as we are going to work for the satisfaction for not only the APMT but all customers who intend to do business with Railways”.
As the MD stated in his maiden speech at the assumption of office, “prioritizing customers satisfaction by improving customer experience and ensuring that our services are reliable, efficient, safe and sustainable”.
He went further to state that increased rail usage will not only drastically reduce the cost of goods and services but also increase the gross domestic product (GDP) by providing food security.
