Agbado to Oyingbo : Red Line Train Service increases daily morning trips to five, starting Monday February 10, 2025.
The Red Line Service will now operate five morning trips and four evening trips daily, totalling nine trips per day.
Previously, two morning trips were available from Agbado (Ogun) to Oyingbo (Lagos).
Red Line has eight stations at Oyingbo, Yaba, Mushin, Oshodi, Ikeja, Agege, Iju and Agbado (in Ogun State).
The 27-km metro service has reduced travel times between Agbado and Oyingbo to just 55 minutes from close to three hours.
The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has announced that the Red Line Train Services will now operate five morning trips, starting from Monday, February 10, 2025.
According to a statement by LAMATA, the change in schedule from two daily trips to five will provide commuting options for Lagos residents travelling along the Agbado to Oyingbo corridor.
“The Red Line train service will increase its capacity, providing full service during the AM peak hours, effective Monday, February 10, 2025.
“The Red Line will now operate five morning trips and four evening trips daily, totalling nine trips per day. Previously, two morning trips were available from Agbado to Oyingbo.
“The Red Line guarantees residents with reduced travel time, with a total journey duration of 50 minutes from Agbado-Oyingbo and a reduced waiting time at each station of only two minutes.”
LAMATA also revealed that in the coming months, the arrival of three new train sets purchased earlier in January will further enhance the Red Line’s capacity and service to Lagos residents.
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu officially launched the passenger operations of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line on September 15th 2024, marking a significant milestone for the state’s transportation system.
Boasting eight stations at Oyingbo, Yaba, Mushin, Oshodi, Ikeja, Agege, Iju and Agbado (in Ogun State), the first phase of the 27-kilometre metro service has reduced travel times between Agbado and Oyingbo to just 55 minutes from close to three hours.
