BMW Confirmed That A New Limited Edition Vehicle Is Being Developed

Although official details are still scarce, BMW has confirmed that a new limited-edition model is in the works, joining the brand’s growing line of exclusive “small series” vehicles.

Silvia Neubauer, Vice President of Customer, Brand, and Sales at BMW M, confirmed that the division has given the green light for this special model. As for what form it might take, that’s still unclear.

“We are talking, but we have to find the right time for it,” Neubauer tells BMW Blog. “Be assured, we share the same dream and passion. We have spoken with Adrian van Hooydonk [BMW Group Head of Design] and the team planning the small series, and there is also a place reserved for BMW M.”

This new model will most likely be based on an existing BMW product, as building a limited-edition car from scratch wouldn’t make financial sense. One option would be something similar to the M4-based 3.0 CSL (pictured) that launched in late 2022 and was limited to just 50 units, despite reportedly costing over €750,000 each.

Neubauer emphasises that the goal is not just to create a collector’s item, but also to offer something special to a wider circle of M enthusiasts, within reasonable limits.

“I believe we need a dream car at a higher price point for a very few collectors,” she said. “From there, probably also not a large run of cars, but probably a small run to make more customers happy at a reasonable price.”
