72 Supercars Worth $9.5 Million Seized By Police For Causing Nuisance Across London Areas

72 Supercars, including Lamborghinis, Bentleys, seized by MET Police for causing nuisance across London Areas.
It comes amid reports by residents of a rise in super cars causing a nuisance in Hyde Park, Kensington and Chelsea areas.
Police seized Ferraris, Porsches, Lamborghinis and Bentleys that were either unroadworthy or being driven illegally.
Tickets issued for motoring offences includes use of fraudulent number plates, driving with no insurance and no licence.
The Metropolitan Police (Met Police) said 72 supercars worth £7 million (about $9.5 million) were seized by its officers across London during a weekend-long operation supported by the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB).
During the operation carried out between Friday 8 and Sunday 10 August, officers seized Ferraris, Mercedes-Benzs, Porsches, Lamborghinis and Bentleys that the police department said were either unroadworthy or being driven illegally.

Met Police said that the operation was in response to concerns raised by residents and businesses about a rise in super cars causing a nuisance in and around the Hyde Park, Kensington and Chelsea areas.
The drivers of the seized vehicles were issued with tickets for a variety of motoring offences, including driving with no insurance, no driving licence, disqualification, false documentation and the use of fraudulent number plates.
Speaking on the operation, Special Chief Officer James Deller, from the Met’s Special Constabulary, said :
“The Met is committed to tackling anti-social behaviour and this operation was set-up to respond to concerns from resident, businesses and visitors about high-value vehicles causing a nuisance in known hotspot areas in central and west London.
“This has been a great opportunity to work with the Motor Insurance Bureau and for officers to speak with members of the public about the work we do, educate drivers and enforce the law.”
