Gov Lawal Presents GAC GS8 SUVs To Zamfara Judges: What To Know About The ₦68M Prado Rival

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State on Friday, August 21, 2026, handed over fleets of GAC GS8 and Toyota Land Cruiser 300 SUVs to the state’s judicial officers, urging them to utilize the publicly funded assets responsibly for service delivery.

According to Governor Lawal, this procurement reflects his commitment to being a fair and responsible government, aimed at ensuring the independence of its dedicated judicial officers and the proper administration of justice.

“Earlier today, I distributed official vehicles acquired by my administration for Zamfara State judicial officers. I urged our judicial officers to see these vehicles as tools of public service and to uphold the highest standards of integrity, impartiality, and professionalism,” he wrote while announcing the presentation on his official page.

GAC GS8

While the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 remains a status symbol, the GAC GS8 is one of several Chinese-made vehicles currently making waves in the Nigerian market. Marketed in Nigeria by CIG Motors, the GAC GS8 SUV starts at around ₦68 million Naira.

The flagship GS8 SUV combines luxury and performance with tested off-roading capabilities. Inside, the seven-seater SUV comes with features like a 14.6-inch HD touchscreen and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. It has four USB Type-A ports and a wide array of driving assistance capabilities.

Safety features include multiple airbags, an Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Stability Control, Lane Departure Warning, and front and rear parking sensors.

Powering the GAC GS8 is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 201-horsepower and 300 Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox, with four-wheel drive available as an option.
