VW Is Going To Showcase The Autonomous ID.Buzz In Norway
Volkswagen has signed an agreement to introduce its driverless minibus to Norway. A partnership agreement has been reached with the carrier Rutter from Oslo and the Nordic operator Hall, reports VW’s subsidiary Moia.
From early 2026, VW will provide ID.Buzz electric vehicles and booking software, including the app.
Oslo is the third city in Europe, after Hamburg and Berlin, where Moia is launching the autonomous ID.Buzz in Los Angeles in the United States is expected to follow next year, where Moia is partnering with ride-hailing service Uber.
For now, the vehicles are still driven with a mandatory driver behind the wheel who can intervene if necessary. According to earlier statements, VW aims to get approval for driverless operation in Europe and the US by the end of 2026.
After that, the safety driver will no longer be needed. Test drives with prototypes have been carried out since 2021.
