JD Power Ranks Chinese Brands As Well
The second annual report on customer satisfaction in the Chinese market, conducted by the prestigious consulting firm JD Power, highlights a clear winner – NIO is ahead of all.
This study included a total of 13,708 owners who bought their cars between January 2024 and February 2026, covering 81 major Chinese cities and up to 56 car brands, many of which are already sold in Europe. JDPower’s study evaluates customers’ experiences in China with each brand’s after-sales service up to 24 months after vehicle delivery. Factors such as customer service or convenience for vehicle owners, energy charging service, service reception, incident handling process and service quality are taken into account.
It also divides the brands studied in China into two types: general and premium. And it is precisely in this premium classification that NIO takes the lead, achieving a total of 814 points out of 1000, ahead of Ait and Yangwang, BYD’s sports and 4×4 brand that achieves the same result (811). The three brands are ahead of Porsche and Volvo, which follow with 804.
It should be noted that NIO already sells three brands in Europe: NIO, ONVO and Firefly, but for now it is limited to the Northern European markets. The best of the non-premium brands is Lee Auto, a manufacturer specializing in SUVs with EREV powertrains. Next is Zeekr and then Xpeng. Then AVATR, and only then Xiaomi, followed by Tesla.
