BMW Sells More Than 2 Million 3-Series In China Since Inception

BMW China has announced that cumulative sales of the BMW 3 Series in China have exceeded 2 million units, and the new generation BMW i3 will make its official debut there at the end of the year at the Chengdu Motor Show.

The BMW 3 Series is a mid-size luxury sports sedan produced by BMW. Since its launch in 1975, it has gone through seven generations, with global cumulative sales of more than ten million units, earning it a reputation as the marque’s most important model.

The new BMW 3 Series will speak the Neue Klasse design language, modeled on the i3, and the car will use the upgraded CLAR platform.

The new generation BMW i3 is developed on the Neue Klasse electric platform, and production and launch are planned for the fourth quarter of this year under the hood of BMW Brilliance.

The data on the two million copies sold is such a small consolation for the German manufacturer, which is facing fierce competition and declining sales on the Chinese market…
