Photos : Freelander Concept 97 Previews Chinese-made Model From JLR-Chery Partnership

Freelander Concept 97 previews Freelander 8, a rugged electrified 4×4, created in partnership between JLR and Chery.

While the production ready Freelander 8 features 4 conventional doors, the Concept 97 utilises pillarless, reverse-opening rear doors.

The number “97” in the Concept name is a nod to the year (1997) which the original Land Rover Freelander was launched.

Inside, it gets a pillar-to-pillar display plus a large floating infotainment touchscreen with physical controls.

JLR-Chery “Freelander” brand plans to launch a new model every six months over the next three years, starting with the Freelander 8.
