Saudi Royals Gift Rapper Lil Wayne A Lamborghini After Airport Drama

Few people get to see a nightmare unexpectedly turn into a dream come true, but that was the case for Lil Wayne, who was gifted a Lamborghini and an expensive watch by members of the Saudi royal family after encountering problems with customs officials while in the country for a performance in 2020.
This isn’t another cock-and-bull story, as a video of Lil Wayne himself recounting the incident on Drink Champs recently popped up on the Autojosh feed, where he jokingly narrated how his frustrating customs ordeal turned into an unforgettable surprise.

“Whoever paid for that dam show, I never had a show that big in my own career” the singer born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr said during the American rappers appearance on the Drink Champs podcast in January 2023.
Speaking about the 2020 airport incident, Lil Wayne said he was stopped by Saudi officials after they discovered more than $25,000 worth of jewelry in his backpack, which they said should have been declared.
While contemplating leaving the country, Lil Wayne said a senior member of the Saudi royal family later intervened, apologized for the ordeal, and gifted him a Franck Muller watch valued at around $25,000.

Still trying to wrap his head around the unexpected gift, the 43-year-old rapper said he was then asked whether he preferred a Lamborghini or a Ferrari.
“After he was leaving the room, he said, ‘oh, I forgot, Lamborghini or Ferrari?’ I thought it was a general question. I said ‘Lamborghini’— I thought he was asking me which one was better. Then he asked, ‘what color?’ I said ‘black.’ He said, ‘In front of your house in three weeks. I’m very sorry for this.”
Lil Wayne said he chose what he described as a “Lamborghini truck,” referring to the Urus SUV, finished in black. He added that the luxury SUV, which was priced between $200,000 and $238,000 in 2020, was delivered to him three weeks later.
