Did you know that today Saturday 22nd Of September is World Car Free Day?
Yes, if the Nigerian Government is aware of this and knows the importance, all major roads across the country should be closed by now.
Today, motorists across the globe are forced to ditch their cars for a day and encouraged to walk or use their bicycles instead.
Traffic jam in Lagos and China
It gives motorists and commuters an idea of their locality with fewer cars in a bid to reduce pollutions ,road accidents and congestion. Taking public transport is also preferred to using personal cars.
Studies also shows that using a bicycle for short trips is faster than using a car .
With an election around the corner,i doubt if the government is aware of this or maybe there are some selected streets or roads taking part.
