Anti-smuggling : Customs Seizes 23 Exotic Vehicles With DPV Value Of ₦813M, Including Armored Toyota Land Cruiser - autojosh

Nigerian Customs Service Rapid Response Squad HQ seizes 23 exotic vehicles during anti-smuggling operations.

The seized exotic vehicles have DPV value of ₦813 Million, including a ₦83 million Armoured Toyota Land Cruiser SUV.

The seizures were made by teams from Customs RRS HQ, whose focus is checking the smuggling of exotic vehicles.

Customs RRS HQ activities covers the North Central, North East and West part of the Nigeria.





Other seizures made includes bales of used clothings, bags of rice and used tyres. The overall DPV values of the seizures amounts to ₦998 million.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has recorded yet another feat in its fight against smuggling of goods into the country after seizing twenty-three (23) exotic vehicles with a DPV worth over ₦800 million Naira.

The seizures were made by teams from Nigerian Customs Service Rapid Response Squad Head Quarters (HQ), whose focus is checking the smuggling of exotic vehicles into the country. Their activities covers the North Central, North East and West part of the Nigeria.





Paraded in a short clip posted on its Facebook are top of the range vehicles, including a Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G-Wagon) and a 2020 Armoured Toyota Land Cruiser SUV worth over N80 million Naira.

According to Customs, to import a bulletproof vehicle into the country, one needs the apply for National Security Adviser to get End User Certificate that will allow them to know the true owner.

Coordinator of Rapid Response Squad, Assistant Comptroller Jack Okpabi, said that the seizures amounted to a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of ₦813.2 million — an amount that is expected to go into the government’s purse.

Other seizures made during the period includes bales of used clothings, bags of foreign rice and 360 pieces of used (Second-hand) tyres. The overall DPV values of the seizures amounts to ₦998 million.
