Aston Martin And James Bond Celebrates 60 Years With DB12 Goldfinger Edition

Aston Martin presents the DB12 Goldfinger Edition, created by the personalization service Q by Aston Martin, to celebrate 60 years of the iconic relationship between Aston Martin and the James Bond film franchise.

What has become one of the most notable partnerships in cinema history began with Goldfinger in 1964, when the Aston Martin DB5 debuted on the big screen. The DB5 has become one of the most recognizable cars in the world and a key step in the brand’s famous ‘DB’ bloodline. Now, the latest evolution in that line is getting the 007 treatment.

Presented in the iconic Silver Birch color synonymous with the DB5 in Goldfinger, the DB12 Goldfinger Edition makes an instant statement. Striking 21-inch multi-spoke wheels in a unique silver color with a diamond finish are complemented by black brake callipers, gold side stripes and a unique Aston Martin logo in silver. With a bright chrome ‘Q’ fender, the badge confirms that this DB12 has been given some really special touches.

Inside this special edition, leather Sports Plus seats are in the classic DB5 embossed style with a Prince of Wales perforation pattern, a nod to James Bond’s classic suit. This pattern extends to the door inserts and headliner, as well as being engraved on the unique Goldfinger 60th anniversary logo plaques on the door sills.

Adding an elevated level of ultra-luxury to the car’s interior are the interior gold-plated accents. This theme is also continued through the decorative inserts.

A subtle nod to Bond fans is the ‘eight of hearts’ embroidered on the driver’s sun visor, a reference to the playing card seen in the final draw during Goldfinger’s famous Miami pool scene.

Aston Martin is making only 60 cars, one for each year since Goldfinger hit the theatres. The customers are in for a treat since the special car comes bundled with a lot of goodies. There’s a bespoke car cover and a fancy box for the key, plus a Silver Birch Speedform model. The real highlight is a section of the Furka Pass scene in Goldfinger in 35mm film. Buyers also receive an individually numbered champagne bottle, four fancy glasses, and a 1-of-60 Aston Martin magazine.

Powered by a 4.0 litre V8 Twin-Turbo engine, producing 680 PS and 800 Nm, and combined with an advanced suspension system, the DB12 provides an exhilarating yet refined driving experience.

When driving the Bond-inspired DB12, passengers also need the right sound, so the Goldfinger Edition also comes with a Bowers & Wilkins audio system as standard.
