Aston Martin Works Announces The Sale Of Its Zagato Models

Published

on

Aston Martin Works has announced the sale of four rare Zagato models, and the target group is wealthy collectors with “expensive taste”.

The collection is privately owned and consists of Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato models in Volante, Shooting Brake and Speedster variants, joined by the newer and even rarer DBS GT Zagato. This means that only an original Vanquish Zagato Coupe is missing to complete one of the rarest collections of Zagato specials.

The Vanquish Zagato Volante and Shooting Brake were produced in 99 units (each), while the Speedster was created in 28 units. The rarest is the DBS GT Zagato with only 19 examples produced.

Interestingly, the owner of the DBS GT Zagato model separated it from the classic DB4 GT Zagato Continuation model, which comes with it as part of the DBZ Container Collection. The duo cost £6m before tax, but the value could be higher if sold separately.

The Vanquish Zagato family is based on the platform of the previous generation Vanquish model, which was produced between 2012 and 2018. Under the hood is an atmospheric V12 engine, which develops 600 hp.

The DBS GT Zagato is based on the newer model Aston Martin DBS Superleggera and is powered by a more powerful twin-turbo V12 engine with 760 hp.

Aston Martin Works, the heritage division of the brand, has not announced the price of the special collection of four cars, but the winning bid is expected to be in the millions. Cars are located in Great Britain.
