Audi Q3 And Q3 Sportback Gets The Old-School 2.0 TDi Engine

The engine range for the Audi Q3, which is already available with different types (petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid), is expanding and now includes a new, or rather old, diesel engine in the range.

The German premium brand has added the familiar 193 hp 2.0 TDI engine, which was hidden under the 40 TDI designation in the previous generation, to the configurator. The more powerful 2.0-liter diesel in the new Q3 is offered exclusively in combination with quattro all-wheel drive.

The new diesel is available for both the Q3 SUV and the Q3 Sportback. It joins the 150 hp 2.0 TDI and is currently only sold in Germany.

According to the official website, the Audi Q3 2.0 TDI with 193 hp reaches a top speed of 220 km/h, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, with an average consumption of between 6.1 and 6.8 liters per 100 km, depending on the equipment package, while CO2 emissions range from 160 to 177 g/km. Similar figures are expected to follow the more attractive Sportback version.

Paired with quattro all-wheel drive and the S tronic automatic transmission, the new 2.0 TDI for the Audi Q3 and Q3 Sportback can be combined with all available equipment packages in Germany, with a starting price of 51,900 euros.
