Bentley Starts Production Of Class-leading Bentayga Extended Wheelbase

British luxury marque starts production of class-leading Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase (EWB).
Since its reveal in May, Bentayga EWB has accounted for approximately 40 per cent of total Bentayga orders.
Bentayga EWB extended by 180 mm to offer best-in-class rear cabin compared to any other luxury competitor.
V8 engine allows the stretched Ultimate SUV to reach a top speed of 180 mph and 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds.
British luxury marque, Bentley Motors, has announced the start of production of its all-new Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase (EWB) at the company’s sustainable factory campus in Crewe.
The Bentayga Extended Wheelbase (EWB), which was unveiled in May and extended the Bentley range to five models, builds on the strengths of the Bentayga, a car that defined the luxury SUV sector at launch in 2015.
Bentley notes that since its debut earlier this year, the EWB has accounted for approximately 40 per cent of total Bentayga orders, further cementing the model as Bentley’s best-selling.
To create the Bentayga EWB, Bentley extended the wheelbase of the base Bentayga by 180 mm (7.1 in), to create an exceptionally luxurious rear cabin that is larger than any other luxury competitor.
Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase is available with three seating configurations and an optional Airline Seat Specification, which offers maximum relaxation in the rear.
Peter Bosch, Member of the Board for Manufacturing at Bentley Motors, said:
“The new Bentayga Extended Wheelbase is the next chapter in the Bentagya story which, since the original luxury SUV came to market in 2015, has transformed the sector and resulted in record sales.
At Bentley, we collaborated with our customers to stretch the class-leading SUV’s breadth of ability even further, leading to a rear-cabin experience comparable to the legendary Mulsanne.”
“As part of the Bentley experience, our first EWB customers significantly personalised their orders and we are proud to now deliver the first highly bespoke cars of our new sector-defining pinnacle model.”
The Bentayga Extended Wheelbase is powered by Bentley’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 petrol engine, developing 542-horsepower and 568 lb.ft (770 Nm) of torque.
This V8 engine offers supercar performance, allowing the stretched SUV to reach a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h) and 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds (100 km/h in 4.6 seconds).
