BMW Is Already Modifying Its Production Plans For The Electric iX3 Due To Strong Demand

Despite negative comments about the new design, the electric BMW iX3 is a real hit. Demand is so strong that the company has already had to adjust production plans.

Customer interest was immediately evident after the launch of the second generation of the model, which led to the decision to introduce an additional shift at the factory in Debrecen, Hungary, where the iX3 is currently manufactured.

During the presentation of business results, BMW CEO Oliver Zipse revealed that customer interest is extremely high.

“The order books for the iX3 are full well into this year,” said Zipse, emphasizing that the model is attracting both private customers and business fleets.

According to him, BMW has already collected more than 50,000 orders for the new iX3. When operating at full capacity, the Debrecen plant will produce up to 150,000 vehicles per year.

This start is particularly interesting because it is the first model from a new generation of electric vehicles, which should mark the beginning of a new era for BMW.

BMW is already considering expanding production to meet global demand. In addition to Hungary, the new iX3 is also expected to be produced in China and Mexico in the future.
