BYD Rapidly Produced 3 Million Vehicles In 8 Months In 2024, Leading To Its 10-millionth In 30 Years

Chinese car giant BYD Auto Co Ltd. concluded 2024 with milestone 10 million New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in 30 years.

The company achieved the production of its first 5 million vehicles in 15 years and the next 5 million in just 15 months.

BYD said 2024 milestone demonstrates its strategic focus on new energy vehicles and its continuous technological advancement. 

BYD sells its vehicles under the main BYD brand and high-end vehicles under its Denza, Yangwang and Fangchengbao brands.

Chinese car giant BYD (Build Your Dreams) Auto Co Ltd. concluded year 2024 with remarkable milestones, after rapidly producing 3 million New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) within 8 months and its landmark 10 millionth vehicles in 30 years.

In a statement, the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles and power batteries, which sells its vehicles under the main BYD brand and high-end vehicles under its Denza, Yangwang and Fangchengbao brands, said :

“In 2024, BYD achieved remarkable milestones, rapidly producing its 7 millionth, 8 millionth, 9 millionth, and finally its landmark 10 millionth NEVs only months apart.

“These back-to-back achievements underscore BYD’s unmatched efficiency, robust supply chain, and commitment to leading the global transition to green mobility.”

BYD’s 10-millionth vehicle, a DENZA Z9, rolled off its Xiaomo Production Base in the Shenzhen-Shanwei Special Cooperation Zone in November 2024. The anniversary car was presented to Mr. Feng Ji, Founder and CEO of Game Science.

“Remarkably, BYD took 15 years to produce the first 5 million NEVs and achieved the next 5 million in just 15 months, demonstrating the company’s strategic focus on new energy vehicles and its continuous technological advancement”, said the Chinese car giant.

In October 2024, BYD’s stunning $150,000 Electric SUV, the YangWang U8, made its official European debut at the ongoing Paris Motor Show, nearly two years after at its unveiling at the Guangzhou International Motor Show in China.
