A one-of-a-kind Denza Z9GT Chopard Edition created by BYD’s premium brand in collaboration with renowned Swiss luxury house, Chopard, sold for €700,000 euros ($815,000) at the 32nd Cannes amfAR charity gala in France.

Presented during the 32nd amfAR charity gala, the tailor-made Z9GT is described as a “moving work of jewelry”, thanks to Chopard’s enhancements, including amethyst stones in the cabin and a pair of accompanying his-and-hers bespoke timepieces.

In addition, Chopard logo is integrated into the wireless smartphone-charging pad while the Z9GT’s 17.3-inch infotainment system also feature a bespoke Chopard theme.

BYD Executive Vice President Li Ke stated :

“The DENZA Chopard tailor-made Z9GT is the perfect example of how the finest technology becomes natural, almost invisible – but more than that, it shows how a refined house of luxury can take the finest details and raise them to another level altogether. We’re so proud of this collaboration and delighted that it can play a key role in the amfAR Gala Cannes and its fund-raising efforts.”

Like the standard Z9GT priced between €101,000 and €115,000 ($110,000 – $134,500) in the European market, the Z9GT Chopard Edition is powered by three electric motors, which puts out more than 1,150 horsepower and allows 0-60 mph in less than three seconds.

Caroline Scheufele, Co-President and Artistic Director of Chopard, also commented on the partnership, saying : “Through this special collaboration, we have transformed the Denza Z9GT into a piece of jewelry that rides the wind, with every design embodying our dedication to craftsmanship and our relentless pursuit of beauty.”

The money generated from the sale of the Denza Z9GT Chopard Edition is part of the $20 million raised by amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research) on Thursday night during the 32nd amfAR charity gala, with all proceeds set to support AIDS research programs.
