eActros 600, Under A Police Escort, Reverses 30-km On Public Roads To Daimler Truck’s New Global Parts Center

eActros 600, under police escort, reverses 30-km on public roads to Daimler Truck’s new Global Parts Center.
Its finishing line was the new Daimler Truck Global Parts Center in Halberstadt, ahead of its opening on July 10th 2025.
Reverse drive to Halberstadt was preceded by a continuous reversing record of 124.7-km with the eActros 600 on a racetrack.
The new flagship Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 from Mercedes-Benz Truck, under a police escort, recently caused quite a stir after covering approximately 30 kilometers in reverse between Oschersleben and Halberstadt in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt.
eActros 600’s finishing line was the new Daimler Truck Global Parts Center in Halberstadt and the reverse drive by the new electric long-haul truck was reached after around 2 hours.
According to Mercedes-Benz Trucks, the new Halberstadt site, which will officially open on July 10th 2025, will gradually take over the manufacturer’s worldwide supply of spare parts from this year onwards.
The reverse drive to Halberstadt was preceded by a successful, continuous reversing record of 124.7 kilometers with the eActros 600 on the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben racetrack the same day.
“For me, a big dream has come true: to drive a long distance in reverse on public roads with an all-electric truck and semitrailer,” said Marco Hellgrewe, an officer in the German Armed Forces, who maneuvered the eActros 600 both on the racetrack and from Oschersleben to Halberstadt.
“And even being able to do it with the electric flagship eActros 600 from Mercedes-Benz Trucks – which has now become my second home, so to speak. I would like to thank Mercedes-Benz Trucks, the police and the numerous other authorities and stakeholders for their phenomenal support,” Marco Hellgrewe added.
Speaking on the attempt, Stefan Türk, Site Manager of Daimler Truck’s Global Part Center in Halberstadt, said : “With the spectacular reversing trips, we introduced ourselves as a new neighbor in Halberstadt with a grand entrance – and this was even before the official opening in July.
