Fire Department Destroys A 2020 Ford Mustang In A Training Exercise

Safety is very important in our daily lives and anything must be done to save lives and a fire department went the extra mile in a training session. The Dearborn Fire Department was undergoing a vehicle extrication training session with its personnel and a Ford Mustang was used. Furthermore, the Mustang is not just and ordinary one but the top GT500 model. The vehicle is very expensive but the model used was a test mule model which is no street legal. The vehicle was donated by Ford for the training exercise.
The department’s Facebook post even acknowledged it “almost broke their hearts to cut up” the muscle car. The Facebook post further reads.” Your Dearborn Firefighters train daily. This week we trained on vehicle extrication. It almost broke our hearts to cut up this 2020 Ford Shelby Cobra GT 500 test vehicle. Thank you to Dennis Lark and FoMoCo for the opportunity. Other training included special operations and equipment familiarization.”
Vehicle extrication involves cutting away a vehicle from a trapped occupant to avoid injuries during a rescue operation. The whole process is not easy that’s why an actual vehicle was used for the training exercise. This would help the firefighters learn the ropes of the difficult task.
In addition to all these, just a little reminder that the Mustang GT500 uses a 5.2-litre supercharged V8 producing 760 horsepower and 625 lb-ft of torque.
