Ford Recalls Yet Again Another Set Of Vehicles Due To Transmission Issues
Ford is at it again with the latest recall of nearly 1000 vehicles with transmission developing issues. Models manufactured in November last year are the most affected which include the F-150, Mustang, Bronco, Lincoln Aviator, and Explorer.
The reason for the recall is a loose nut in the gearbox which will make the affected vehicles roll away even though they’re in “Park”. Ford became aware of an issue affecting the 10R (10-speed automatic models) on January 13th, when the Critical Concern Review Group initiated an investigation into two reports of unintended movements of 2023 model year Bronco vehicles at the Michigan Assembly Plant. Two days prior, Michigan Assembly Plant workers found an extra loose bolt in the 10R60s of the aforementioned off-road utility vehicles.
On the 30th of that month, Ford’s Critical Concern Review Group identified a related warranty repair on a 2022 Ford Explorer. That vehicle went to the dealer with transmission-related failures and just 29 miles on the odometer. The dealer found a loose bolt in the transmission housing.
Ford has stopped further sales of vehicles manufactured within the period the issues were discovered (vehicles manufactured by November of last year and January this year) with 600 affected vehicles still at the dealership.
