INEOS Offers Grenadier-based Military Trucks To Replace British Army’s Retired Land Rovers

INEOS Automotive offers Grenadier-based Military Trucks to replace British Army’s retired Land Rover Defenders. 

Join forces with SMT Defence and NMS UK to form ‘Team Grenadier’, which aims to pitch its MRLV for UK’s MoD Light Mobility Vehicle program.

Under the partnership, INEOS will offer its BMW-powered Grenadier—a purpose-engineered, highly durable, heavy-duty 4×4. 

INEOS Automotive has joined forces with SMT Defence and NMS UK to form ‘Team Grenadier’, which aims to pitch its Grenadier-based Multi-Role Light Vehicle (MRLV) for the UK Ministry of Defence’s (MoD) Light Mobility Vehicle (LMV) program.

The upcoming Light Mobility Vehicle (LMV) programme aims to identify an enduring successor to the long-serving fleet of 5,000 Land Rover Defenders after around 70 years of military use.

Under the partnership, INEOS will offer its Grenadier — a purpose-engineered and highly durable heavy-duty 4×4 powered by BMW 3.0-litre straight-six turbocharged engines while NMS UK will ensure the military vehicles are delivered at scale.

Under the partnership, INEOS will offer its Grenadier—a purpose-engineered, highly durable, heavy-duty 4×4 powered by a BMW 3.0-litre straight-six turbocharged engine.

“Grenadier’s unrivalled capability and inherent strength provide an obvious starting point for mission-critical transport,” said Mike Whittington, Chief Commercial Officer, INEOS Automotive.

For its part, SMT Defence will lead vehicle adaptation and systems integration activities, while NMS UK’s reputation for developing armoured and protected platforms will ensure the programme is delivered at scale and on time.

At the upcoming Light Mobility Vehicle (LMV) programme, Ineos Automotive’s Grenadier-based truck will compete against JLR’s military version of its new Defender, as well as the Land Cruiser-based General Logistics Vehicle (GLV) built in partnership between Babcock International and Toyota.
