Jonny Baxter, British Deputy High Commissioner Rode In Lagos Blue Line, Anticipates Red Line Launch
Jonny Baxter, British Deputy High Commissioner, rode on the Lagos Blue Line from Marina to Mile 2 on Thursday.
He also interacted with a female train driver, Isabella Adams highlighting the diverse workforce powering the railway network.
Baxter anticipates the launch of the Lagos Red Line Rail on the February 29th, which connects Lagos and Ogun by rail.

The British Deputy High Commissioner (DHC), Mr. Jonny Baxter rode in Lagos Blue Line train from Marina to Mile 2 on Thursday February 22nd, experiencing firsthand the growing transportation options available to residents.
According to the Lagos State Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Baxter’s visit signifies the continued international interest in Lagos’ infrastructure development, particularly its public transportation initiatives.

LAMATA boss, Engr. Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo, who took part in the ride, presented the security measures implemented on the Blue Line to showcase the system’s commitment to passenger safety.
During the trip, Baxter also had the opportunity to meet and interact with a female train driver, Miss. Isabella Adams highlighting the diverse workforce powering the railway network.

Sharing his experience on his official X (formerly Twitter) platform, Baxter wrote :
“Impressed to travel on the Lagos blue line this morning. A great addition to this great city. I’m the proud owner of a cowrie card”

The British Deputy High Commissioner (DHC), anticipates the launch of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line Rail on the February 29th, which connects Lagos and neighbouring Ogun State by rail.
“Delighted to be on my way to Ogun state. It’s great to see the Nigerian countryside. But the drive out of Lagos reinforces why schemes like the Red Line and all the other lines that will follow are so important.”
