Operatives of Lagos State Police Command, Ikotun Police Division, has arrested two while trying to abduct a female secondary school student, who was rescued from the suspect’s tinted Toyota Camry.

According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Hundeyin Benjamin, the suspects will arraigned at the conclusion of investigation.

He further revealed that suspect’s tinted Toyota Camry has impounded and that the female secondary school student has been reunited with her family.

A statement by the State Command, titled with “Let’s teach our children not to follow strangers!”, reads :

“Ikotun Police Division received information from community members about the presence of strange people moving around their neighborhood suspiciously.

“The police moved in discreetly, quickly enough to rescue a female secondary school student they had tricked into their car and abducted.

“The suspects, Adamaka Chinyere and Bolajoko Haruna, have been arrested and their tinted Toyota Camry impounded.





“They are to be arraigned at the conclusion of investigation. Meanwhile, the student has been reunited with her family.”

Earlier this month, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) disclosed plans to clamp down on vehicles with unauthorised tinted glasses, saying that they contribute to the widespread of kidnappings and crimes in the country.

Force spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, stated this on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Thursday, adding that criminals use vehicles with unauthorized tinted glasses for their operations.
